The Regatta Tarah Bodywarmer with its sombre hues and attractive quilt design is a great choice for keeping warm. The outer fabric is water repellent micro poplin. Poplin is made using yarns of different thickness in a plain weave. The resulting fabric is a marriage between toughness and breathability to which water resistance is added in this garment. Inside the top layer is the wadding material which has a direct bearing on the bodywarmer's ability to generate warmth. The wadding captures air pockets in between the fibers and this property allows the wadding, and therefore the bodywarmer, to trap warmth. The last layer which is the inside layer, is polyester taffeta. Polyester taffeta is made to imitate the smoothness and texture of silk taffeta and is a fabric which allows moisture to dry rapidly. The three layers work with each other to create what is known as thermo guard insulation. Thermo guard insulation uses synthetic fibers to trap air, increasing the garment's ability to keep warm.
