Pyrovatex is a flame retardant fabric treatment that will protect the wearer by creating a 3/4carbon shield' or what is known as a char effect when exposed to flame.
This will stop the fire from spreading across the fabric and from penetrating the fabric. The fabric will also not melt or smolder.
Pyrovatex works best with natural fibers as opposed to synthetic material. That is why the Dickies Pyrovatex Coverall is made of 100% cotton.
The cotton absorbs the Pyrovatex at a molecular level, this means that the fire retardant treatment is retained even after frequent washings provided washing instructions are followed.
Adding to the utility are the reflective tape, extended collar to protect the neck area, triple stitching for toughness, side pockets allowing entry to undergarments, and numerous pockets.
