Top Gear - Case Study

The Introduction

Top Gear has become one of the biggest shows on television, achieving viewing figures of over 350 million every episode as the show is broadcast across more than 170 countries. Relaunched in 2002 after the end of the original series which started in 1977, Top Gear has gained a large following through their innovative global challenges involving their three presenters and The Stig as well as a host of well-known celebrities who undertake the Star in a Reasonably Price Car challenge.

The Requirements

We were approached by Top Gear in August to produce a range of garments for their Top Gear Track Experience initiative which allows members of the public to take on the Top Gear test track in a range of challenges. The garments needed to hold the same sleek and professional appearance that the Top Gear name has created, while being practical in both their fit and protection against the winter conditions.

The End Product

We provided The Top Gear Track Experience with a number of garments including both male and female t-shirts as well as winter jackets to help provide added protection when out on the track during those colder days. The 100+ garments all contained the Top Gear Track Experience logo on the left breast which was produced in-house through our embroidery machines totalling in excess of 100 heads. As with any order, prior to the garments bring printed we provided representatives of the Top Gear Track Experience with an embroidery sample so they could see how the logo looked prior to it being applied to all of the garments.
