The Lion King - Case Study

The Introduction

Based on the original 1994 Walt Disney film, The Lion King has grown to become one of the most popular musicals to ever be produced with over 65 million people across the globe enjoying the action packed musical. The UK version of the musical, performed at the Lyceum Theatre in London, has ran since 1999 and is now one of the longest running shows to ever perform in the infamous West End.

The Requirements

Workwear Express were approached by Lyceum Theatre to produce a number of embroidered aprons that would be worn by the various hospitality staff during the UK tour of The Lion King musical. The aprons needed to have enough space to contain The Lion King musical logo and also keep the professional and stylish appearance that underpins an evening at the theatre.

The End Product

We worked with Lyceum Theatre to find the right style of apron that met all of their requirements while offering a high level of practical performance. Eventually deciding on a selection of Dennys Money Pocket aprons, we then provided the Lyceum Theatre with a swatch sample of the embroidered Lion King logo so that they could see how the logo will look before it is applied to the aprons. The embroidered garments were then delivered to the theatre in London before being used at in Sunderland, Cardiff, Manchester and Southampton
