Shipwrecked - Case Study

The Introduction

Shipwrecked is a British reality television programme which ran for 8 series on Channel 4, beginning in 2000 and ending in 2011. However, Channel 4 have recently announced that the popular series will be making a return, with filming taking place this summer. The show had a few formats over the years, with this year’s show reimagining the “Battle of the Islands” format.

Two rival islands will battle it out to win over new arrivals, with the largest tribe at the end of the life-changing adventure being crowned as winners of the ultimate popularity contest in paradise. However, fans of the show will know there are many twists and turns, and the shared prize money for the winning island could well all end up in the hands of one contestant.

The Requirements

When preparing for the show, the Shipwrecked producers quickly and correctly recognised that, due to the conditions on the deserted island in the South Pacific Ocean, contestants would require protection from the sun. And this is where they came to us.

In the summer of 2018, the producers of Shipwrecked approached us as they needed 40 caps in a range of colours for the shows contestants. We suggested the Result Boston Cap. They were happy to go ahead with our suggestion and asked for 10 of each in colours Burgundy, Navy, Black and Dove Grey.

The End Product

We sent out the caps to the producers of Shipwrecked and they were more than happy with the product. The caps were distributed to the contestants as they arrived to sweltering conditions on the deserted South Pacific island. The series is expected to air shortly in the coming months so make sure you keep your eyes peeled for the caps we supplied the contestants with.
