McCain Foods - Case Study

The Introduction

Founded in Canada in 1957, McCain Foods have grown to now employ well over 19,000 employees across their 50 production sites on a total of 6 different continents. McCain Foods live up to their well established reputation as one of the leading suppliers of frozen food by providing one-third of the planet with a range of frozen chips totalling more than 160 countries.

The Requirements

Workwear Express were approached by McCain Foods to produce a range of polo shirts that would be worn by the various staff the company employ at their UK headquarters in Scarborough. Due to the iconic style of the McCain’s logo, the company required the polo shirts to contain the same colour scheme that the logo held, while also maintaining the professional appearance that the company is renowned for.

The End Product

We put a number of garment choices together that we felt would best match all of McCain Food’s requirements. After much discussion, McCain opted for a contrast polo shirt with the bulk of the garment in black with an orange contrast moving up the sides and under the sleeves. The white piping used to separate the two colours helped to create a perfect match to that used in the logo. Before the logo was applied to the garments, we embroidered the McCain logo onto a swatch of fabric that matched the colour of the polo shirt. This was then sent to the frozen foods company enabling them to see the finished logo and give full approval prior to the polo shirts being embroidered. Once the selection of polo shirts had been embroidered with the McCain logo they were then securely delivered to their premises in Scarborough.
