John Lewis - Case Study

The Introduction

While best known for great value, high end products, the John Lewis brand has received a significant uplift in recent years with high levels of public acclaim for a number of their innovative television adverts. As department store chain with a proud and deep history, John Lewis are one of the biggest high street names in the UK. Founded way back in 1864, they currently have over 40 stores throughout England, Scotland and Wales which employ almost 40,000 staff.

The Requirements

John Lewis approached Workwear Express seeking a range of printed clothing that could be used as part of the promotional campaigns for the various new store openings that the department store chain had up and down the UK. John Lewis required the garments to effectively show the John Lewis branding, making it easily identifiable to the passing public, while also generating providing information and creating social media engagement. These designs needed to be printed on to a range of t-shirts and polo s hirts in varying colours.

The End Product

Workwear Express received the designs that John Lewis would like to have the appearance on both the front and the back of the garments. Our experienced in-house art department took the designs and placed them on to proof designs of the garments. These were then sent to John Lewis to show how the garments would like after they've been printed. Once John Lewis approved the designs, they were then applied to the various t-shirts and polo shirts using one of our screen printing machines. The finished garments were then packaged security and delivered to the required John Lewis department store well within the required timescale.

The relationship between Workwear Express and John Lewis has grown over years as we've produced a wide range of t-shirtspolo shirtshigh visibility clothing and other garments for the department store chain to aid in their various promotions and day to day running.
