New Factory Up & Running!

Last year, Workwear Express put ambitious but necessary plans to expand the company and double turnover by 2023 in to action by extending our office and factory space. Now, in early 2019, operations are in full swing.

Since moving into a new 40,000 square foot factory, which is conveniently next door to our existing 25,000 square foot factory, we have already created a number of jobs, with a further 30+ job opportunities expected to arise the coming weeks and months.

With more than 170 people already being employed by Workwear Express, the £3.5 million injection into the business will further be a great thing for the local economy. The move and the planned growth is necessary to keep up with customer demand and to stay ahead of our competitors.

Coming from numerous sectors including healthcare, industrial and hospitality, we have thousands of new customers every week and over 100,000 active customers across our e-commerce; key accounts and international divisions.

Workwear Express was first launched in 1990 by Andrew Ward from the back of a van and is now home to the most advanced and sophisticated printing and embroidery machinery on the market today.

Speaking about the move, Mr Ward said: “Workwear Express is set to become the biggest modern facility of its kind in the UK and this multi-million pound investment is a strategic decision to support our exciting growth plans.

“We recognised a need to expand our premises in order to increase capacity to meet the demand for our products and services, particularly as we expand our operations further overseas.

“This investment is also about giving our people more opportunities to develop and grow their careers with us as we look forward to an exciting future.”

Committed to providing the very best service, our staff share a vast amount of experience, knowledge and expertise when it comes to all things workwear, ensuring our customers find the perfect personalised clothing, hassle free.

Mr Ward continued: “We are proud of our North East roots and committed to supporting the local economy and jobs, our people are the backbone of the company and our strong position is thanks to the contribution our fantastic staff have made to the success of the business, many of them long-serving.

“When the opportunity to purchase the site directly next to our current facility opened up, it was a no-brainer.”

We would like to take this opportunity to thank our customers, both loyal and new, who have helped drive this growth and made it all possible. No matter how big or small your business – no matter how big or small your order - you can rely on Workwear Express for amazing customer service, top quality products and prompt delivery, all at amazingly low prices.
