Britain’s long wait for a Wimbledon champion as Andy Murray defeated Novak Djokovic in Sunday’s final to become the first home winner of the tournament since Fred Perry in 1936.
The world number 2 seemed to feed off the highly charged crowd, overcoming his close friend, Djokovic, in just over three hours and in straight sets.
Murray’s Wimbledon victory has come at a great time not only to give the country a great boost going into the summer months, but for the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) who haven’t recently been warned by Sport England that they must increase total participation numbers by December or risk losing vital funding.
While the LTA currently run a number of initiatives to help increase awareness, access and opportunity within the sport, it’s thought that Murray’s victory will help create a new enthusiasm for tennis up and down the country, greatly increasing the overall participation particularly with youngster and at grassroots level.
With the current British climate being one full of sunshine, it has been the perfect opportunity for people to get out in the sun and improve their fitness by playing a game of tennis.
We at Workwear Express are looking to help increase these participation levels by giving away a range of mens and womens tennis products.
These products include mens and womens polo shirts, shorts & other apparel. In total the price is worth in excess of £100.
