Hearts FC - Case Study

Hearts FC on the way to the Final!

The Requirement

Since first founded in 1874, Heart of Midlothian Football Club have grown become one of the biggest teams in Scottish Football picking up 4 Scottish League Championships, 4 Scottish League Cup trophies as well as lifting the Scottish Cup on no less than 8 separate occasions throughout the club’s history. Their stadium, Tynecastle, has been a popular sporting venue hosting not just Hearts’ home games, but Scottish International fixtures and even a number of rugby league games.

Workwear Express were approached by the Edinburgh based club to produce a number of printed t-shirts to celebrate their 2012 Scottish Cup semi-final against Celtic at Hampden Park, the home of Scottish football. The t-shirts needed to be printed containing a variety of Hearts themed designs as well as being available in a range of sizes to accommodate the various ages and sizes of their supporters. As these t-shirts were for the Scottish Cup semi-final, they required the garments to be produced well ahead of April 15th 2012 when the match was to take place.

The Solution

Due to the sheer number of t-shirts and various designs that were required, we first checked with our supplier to ensure that all of the t-shirt sizes were in stock prior to beginning the production process. Each of the 3 t-shirt designs were then placed into artwork files, imposed on to the t-shirts that Hearts FC requested so that they could see how the designs would look on the t-shirts in order to give approval for all of the t-shirts to then be screen printed. Each of the different garment designs were then individually packaged and delivered to the required location well ahead of the big day.

The t-shirts proved to give the fans and the players the lift they needed as they went on to defeat Celtic 2-1 in the semi-final before thrashing local rivals Hibernian 5-1 in the final to lift the Scottish Cup.
